Dark ClosetI moved into a new house about 7 months ago and was surprised there's no light in the hallway coat closet. It's in an area that doesn't get natural light, so even during day it's difficult to see into the closet. The previous owner had stuck up some cheap little push lights on the wall and the adhesive was no loger working so they kept falling off, and they barley created light anyway.Choosing this ProductI searched Amazon for an overhead motion detector light and almost bought a different brand until I read a review that said its light shone like a bright spotlight. Then I looked at photos that users provided of that product and saw that was the case--everyone's photo looked like a UFO was beaming a light down. I didn't want that, so I kept looking and found this.The seller here highlighted that the light has a broad field so it's not like a single beam streaming down--that's what I wanted. Plus, with this light you can buy day (bright) or warm light. I wanted my closet to be just like it had a regular overhead light, so I chose warm.InstallationThe plastic plate that I was supposed to attach to the ceiling didn't have pilot holes for the screws, so I had to drill through the plate to make my own. No big deal but it was an extra step I shouldn't have had to do. After that, installation was so easy.FunctionThis light looks, functions, and gives off light like any hardwired indoor overhead light. The motion detector works perfectly when I reach into the closet, and the range of light and warmth of light is perfect! I'm very happy. The other nice thing is the light goes off quite quickly once it doesn't detect motion anymore. So if I'm fiddling around in the closet, the light stays on, but as son as I close the door the light shuts off at 25 seconds. That's good for battery life.Tip for BatteriesBatteries aren't included. The unit takes four D batteries, but I don't mind since I use the Eneloop rechargeable batteries kit that I bought on Amazon a few years ago. The cool thing about Eneloop D batteries is that the D size is actually just a case that you slip an AA battery into--so the charged AA battery provides the power while the case provides the correct size to fit into your device. This means the Eneloop D batteries weigh a lot less than traditional ones that size. They last a long time on a charge, not like rechargeable batteries of 20 years ago. Check them out if you're interested. Some people mentioned being worried about the weight of the batteries for this light.
